BMC Defends Men's Team Time Trial Championship

The BMC Racing Team defended it Team Time Trial Championship at the 2015 UCI World Championship being held in Richmond, Virginia. The BMC team was comprised of:Rohan Dennis (Aus), Silvan Dillier (Swi), Stefan Kueng (Swi), Daniel Oss (Ita), Manuel Quinziato (Ita) and Taylor Phinney (USA). Rohan Dennis received a gold medal for his contribution to the championship run.
American Taylor Phinney led the BMC squad to the victory over Etixx-Quick Step and the Movistar Team. Phinney could not participate in last year’s UCI World Championship because he was recovering from a terrible crash in the  USA Cycling Professional Road Championships on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee. Phinney crashed into a guardrail breaking his left leg.
The 38 km (23 mile) course had 240 meters (787 feet) of elevation departed from Henrico County passing east through Richmond and then doubling back to downtown Richmond for the finish. The Team Time Trial had the Trade Teams that participated in the Grand Tours and not the national teams that will compete for the rest of the week of races.
Etixx-Quick Step edged Movistar Team by 19 seconds, and had
Tom Boonen and Tony Martin on the team. Movistar’s third place finish demonstrates Movistar’s improvement in its time trial capability. This was Eitxx-Quick Step’s second consecutive Second Place finish in the Elite Team Time Trial in the Championship.
