Ojai Valley Century 2012

Lake Casitas from the top of East Casitas Pass
The is a fun century, that involves riding over what we locally call the 'Double Bump', going over Casitas Pass and Dennison Grade on the same ride. Casitas tops out at about 1,200 feet and Dennison Grade goes up to 1,300 feet.  You go over Casitas Pass early in the ride and then go up to Montecito, back to Ventura and on to Santa Paula. Then you go over Dennison Grade, at mile 80 or so, and when it is warmer. Casitas Pass is steeper than Dennison Grade, but Dennison is longer. Dennsion Grade is about 8 miles long with a grade ranging from 4 to 6%, while the steepest and longest part of the Casitas climb is 2.5 miles long with a steady 8% grade for the one mile.
